Engaged views (YouTube)
A YouTube Shorts metric counted when someone watches at least ~30 seconds or to the end — a stronger quality signal than a raw view.
After YouTube loosened how Shorts views are counted (any play now counts), “engaged views” became the better quality signal: it only counts when a viewer actually sticks around for about 30 seconds or finishes the Short.
If your raw view count is high but engaged views are low, people are swiping away fast — almost always a hook problem in the first couple of seconds.
