Going viral
When a video massively outperforms an account’s norm by spreading through the algorithmic feed — usually driven by a strong hook and high retention.
There’s no single view count that makes a video “viral.” It’s about beating your own baseline by a wide margin and reaching far beyond your existing followers.
Viral videos repeat patterns: a hook in the first 1–2 seconds, high retention, and an emotion worth sharing. Break enough of them down and the mechanics become repeatable — which is the whole point of studying them.
